Book 2 in the Little Town series. At first glance, the small mountain settlement of Mount Big Town, or ‘Little Town’ as the locals call it, seems to be a pleasant and peaceful rural haven. Senior Constable Tess Fuller and Sergeant Finn Maguire know better though, kept fully occupied trying to maintain some law and order in a town dominated by the huge feral Bycraft family. Can they recapture fugitive Red Bycraft before he makes good on his threat to hunt down Tess? And what is it exactly that those bikies are up to at their secret retreat and can Tess convince the Sarge that the only way to find out is to throw away the rule book?

I enjoyed the second book in this series and look forward to the third. However, I agree with other people in that there is way too much vulgar language. I'm no prude and have been known to say "bad words" but this author goes over board. The author could get the point across by toning the "Super's" rants down. I'm hard pressed to believe that someone with her mouth would really be promoted through the ranks speaking to people the way she does. It's not amusing in the least. I end up skipping through the sections where the author starts one of the rants of this character. I still get the gist of what's going on without having to read that dribble. One other complaint, why must the boyfriend be called Jakey? Really annoying! Maybe it's the area this story takes place?

Blood Sport Little Town Book 2 edition by JD Nixon Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I find it hard to believe that in this day and age a town like this may exist. Buuuut it made for very interesting reading. Lots of twists and turns, adventure, fights, etc. Worth reading, in fact I just downloaded the next in the series. Just to see if she gets her act together.
What a terrific series. Just love Tess Fuller as a main character. She is one tough cookie who also has a very compassionate side. My husband and I live in a small community, so we understand the workings of Little Town. Thankfully no Bycrafts live near by. We will continue to read all novels in this series.
Great read! Poor Tess still keeps getting in trouble with the Baycrafts. They are a nutty bunch! It was good to see Finn and Tess's working relationship/friendship grow. I still can't figure out what Tess sees in Jake besides a good romp in bed. He doesn't stand up for her at all when dealing with his evil family...and some of the stunts they pulled on her were pure evil. Nixon is great at writing a compelling crazy family! Now on to the 3rd book in the series.
This isn't a literary masterpiece by any means, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and the sequel. If there were more I'd read them too. It was a little over the top but a thoroughly enjoyable quick read. It was a quirky little book with quirky characters. Mostly I enjoyed it because it was different. The main characters are likable for the most part. The book is well written. Actually, I have read everything this author has written and if she writes another book, I will absolutely buy it. And I hope she writes a new one soon.
Book one was awesome, book two was amazing. Tess seems to find trouble no matter what she does or where she goes. Book two not unlike book one kept me wanting more of the story. Off to read book three now!
When you meet Tessie Fuller, you'll fall in love even if you don't want to ...she's just plain wonderful and good and smart and tough and lovely and quick and a good fighter with a knife! What more could you want in a woman? ...LOL!

You'll follow Tessie as she tries her best to keep the peace in Little Town ...while many of one entire and large family tries to hurt, harm and/or kill her. And you'll enjoy every moment of it ...even when she's fighting some of the guys!

I'll keep buying J.D. Nixon's "Little Town" series as long as they keep coming.

Tess is definitely one of top favorite female characters. She is tough and fearless. She spent the beginning part of the book chasing as well as fighting off Red Bycraft while the latter part dealing with bikers engaged in heinous crimes against under-aged girls. I enjoyed the chemistry and teasing between Tess and Finn as well as their comfort level with each other. Finn was so caring and protective of Tess. He made sure Tess was well fed and stocked up on Tim-Tams. To me, they are such a perfect pair and I felt angry when reading scenes of Finn with his spoilt socialite fiancée, Melissa. It was unbelievable that he could be engaged to that girl. I am waiting desperately for Blood Feud.
